DESCRIPTION

Designed by digital audio pioneer Rob Watts, the DAVE is famous for eschewing standard off-the-shelf DAC chips. Instead, it uses a massively powerful, custom-coded Spartan 6 Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to handle digital-to-analog conversion and timing reconstruction.

  • Supported Formats: PCM from 44.1kHz up to 768kHz (16–32 bit) and native DSD up to DSD512.
  • Headphone Output Power: Direct-drive output delivering up to 1.4W into 33Ω and 154mW into 300Ω.
  • Output Impedance: Ultra-low 0.055Ω for maximum headphone compatibility.
