• Advanced BLDC Direct-Drive Motor: Utilizes an ironless, overlapping V-shaped coil construction that completely eliminates "cogging" (the rotational micro-stutter typical of lesser direct-drive designs) for perfect rotational smoothness. 
• Extreme Torque and Monitoring: Delivers 2.68 Nm/sec of torque, letting the heavy 25 lb platter accelerate to full speed or brake to a complete stop in exactly 1 second. An optical ring encoder monitors the speed at 2,500 pulses per revolution for near-perfect speed accuracy. 
• VPI Fatboy 12" Gimbaled Tonearm: Comes standard with a robust, full gimbal bearing arm featuring a 3D-printed armtube. The arm features a special triangular-to-circular taper to cancel internal resonance, wired internally with premium Nordost Reference wire. 
• Massive Resonant-Damped Chassis: Features a heavy, oversized solid plinth constructed from a combination of aluminum and solid black walnut (or machined acrylic in the newer Black Edition). The entire setup weighs 70 lbs, functioning as an integrated vibration sink.
